Why Spay
& Neuter?
Spaying and neutering your pet has never been easier or cheaper! ARF and Catman2 have teamed up to pay over half of the already low fees charged by the ASPCA Spay Neuter Alliance. Spaying and neutering is good for your pet, and it means that fewer animals will be euthanized in local shelters.
It’s the responsible thing to do!

Fees and other information
low-cost spay neuter
In conjunction with the Asheville ASPCA Spay/Neuter Alliance, ARF offers low cost spay/neuter assistance. We can help you help your pets live longer, happier lives. Costs vary, but the cost for a spay or neuter is $20 plus $10 per vaccine. Note that your animal must receive a rabies vaccine (for which you will be charged $5) unless you furnish proof that it is current on rabies. Microchips are available for $10 and they will trim your pet’s nails for free. These prices are low because ARF and Catman2 are supplementing your cost with their own funds.
For now, we are not signing up in person. Note the following links to sign up online. NOTE: Please ONLY bring cats in secure plastic crates; check all hardware to make sure the crate or door cannot accidentally open. ARF volunteers will not be able to handle your cat. If you do not have a cat crate, contact Catman2 or ARF to borrow one. ARF’s number is 877-273-5262.
If you are not able to make it to your confirmed appointment, please let us know as soon as possible. Space on spay & neuter trips is extremely limited. Refunds will not be given to no shows and cancellations less than two business days prior to the spay & neuter departure.
Twenty years of low-cost spay/neuter!
Testimonial from the ASPCA:
The Humane Society of Jackson County (ARF) has transported companion animals to our spay/neuter clinic for twenty years. They help owners get their companion animals sterilized. Their level of professionalism and commitment to spay and neuter companion animals is exceeded by none of the forty animal welfare organizations we work with. For several years, their endeavors resulted in almost 700 sterilizations for publicly-owned animals…astounding!
